Welcome to Clearbrook Wild Child
Clearbrook Wild Child is a children's group, based in the village of Clearbrook on Dartmoor. We organise exciting and fun activities for girls and boys of all ages, from toddler to teenager. You don't have to live in Clearbrook to take part and children are welcome to bring friends. Our events generally take place in Clearbrook itself, but we're not averse to travelling if we find something fun to do elsewhere. We think that parents already have enough expense, so our events are always free to take part.

Quidditch
Back in 2017, I was looking for stuff I could do locally with my 5-year old daughter - the original Clearbrook Wild Child. I couldn't really find anything, so I had two choices - moan about it or do something about it! And this is how Clearbrook Wild Child was started.
In a nutshell, I think about the sort of fun activities I'd like to take my daughter to, and then we put on those activities, hoping that other parents and kids will also find them fun.
Since 2017, we've done some VERY cool stuff. We've made home-made bows that shot real arrows. We've done proper archery. We've gone out onto the moor at night and watched meteors, planets, constellations and even galaxies through a telescope. We've made our own science lab, blasted water rockets into the sky, built mud volcanoes and made cola fountains. We've played Quidditch, thrown Dutch arrows, toasted marshmallows on a camp fire, foraged for food, and generally had a fantastic time.
Clearbrook Wild Child is run entirely by volunteers and 100% of all the money we raise is spent on our events for children. We think that things are expensive enough for parents, so our events are always free. We are able to keep our events free due to the kind generosity of local firms and groups that have donated funds. These include Persimmon Homes, The Co-operative Community Fund and The Unity Chapter No 1247.
